Can anyone tell me how much headroom the upper deck seats on the 747-400s have? I am pretty short - about 150cm/ just under 5 foot - and I’m wondering if I would be able to stand up straight in my aisle seat (not exit row). I watched some YouTube videos and certainly some people in them were too tall to stand in front of their seat, but given I’m pretty short I‘m not sure if I’d be ok. I’d like to be able to stand for some periods as I have some back issues that get worse if I sit for too long.

In an aisle seat you will be fine because of the aisle headroom. Just stand a little off-centre.
Although just standing there will no doubt be super weird. The Lower deck has space around the exits that don’t get in anyone’s way.

I can't specifically answer how much headroom but I'm 5'9 and I was fine when I did QF28 last month in seat 14K.

Standing up straight at your seat?
Evening 14K being an Exit seat I can’t see someone almost 6’ managing to stand up straight in front of a window seat.

You will be fine, the upper deck on a 747 is similar to a narrow body aircraft.

The OP stated their height to be closer to 5' Aisle's will be fine.

I'm taller then I would like, just under 6 foot. I prefer the 747 upper deck. Never had a problem upstairs.

Get up and walk around. You will be free to roam the whole aircraft.

At 1.5 metres you will barely be able to see over the seat in front. 😀. Plenty of headroom.

And welcome to AFF.

Yep which I stated a number of posts ago.
I quoted NSun who at 6’ suggested they are able to stand up straight in a window seat, can’t see it happening.

Thanks so much everyone, you’ve been very helpful! This community is a great resource. I’ve never been upstairs on a plane before but have wanted to do it for awhile so looking forward to my flight.
