I had this as a blog post but it prob is better as a TR
This is the first part of our trip home. Almost ten months ago the Hubster and I dragged our little tribe across the Pacific for a work contract in Montreal. Now its time to go home......sans husband....he is staying and I get to take them home, by myself.

Actually I will say they travel well but lets see how it goes!

The team are
MrR, hes 7 and very serious, enjoys reading the safety card everytime.
MrH, he is almost 6, charming littel cutie who knows lots about everything, if not he'll make it up also in bad need of a haircut.
MissB, who is 4 and does a great safety briefing mimic
and me oh and one small brown bear.

All have been issued with one meltdown pass, you use it you loose it and no more meltdowns. H used his last trip as we walked into the airport in Mackay but that was the only one used last trip. Other thing is Mum can comender your pass should she need it!;)

I'm looking forward to the TR :)

I'm not sure you'll get the business seating you may have expected.

I believe it's still 2x2 with only the window seats being allocated - of course you'll be able to reallocate on board.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Okay made it to Vancouver, passes all intact.....mine is a little tattered around the edges. The flight to Sydney has been delayed an hour so it's midnight local time and we have three hours before boarding. I have has better white wine out of a 4l cardboard box, so that's not an option to entertain myself and I have to remember I have the excess luggage (who are extra chatty tonight, my guess is it will be quickly to sleep when we settle). The international lounge is smaller and less equipped than the domestic side. We are tucked up the back corner munching our way through the fruit bowl, they never eat fruit at home and now they are having discussions on healthy eating choices, I am pretty sure they my kids. Anyway it seems this is now the place to be and I can't get a photo in yet.

Aw Serfity that's bit of a shame anyway at least it's the last flight.

Enjoy your trip.
I think you might like the VA E190 experience, particularly as your family will be the only ones in J :D

Finally I get around to this, okay more to do with lost cables and not being able to download pics. Before I go any further I got in trouble for taking pics on the plane, couldnt believe it, so the kids took over the photography duties....some how they got away with it! It was on the AC flight!

Departed a little late but nothing to worry about

We were in the last row of the cabin seats 4A/C/D/F. Pretty much before we had even finished the maze of turns to get out of montreal we had one asleep! Another wasnt far behind and the eldest was just happy he could use his head set. Its some kiddy one that restricts the volume level. Only ea can be worn during take off and landing.

Well all settled so I think I can have one of these.....

We had requested childrens meals whcih consisted of raw carrots and celery as the starter, salad and then a pasta dish. Good thing MissB is part bunny! She had also fallen asleep and I was asked if I would like their meals kept warm for later.

The rest of us got to choose from:

Typical salad, dressing was yummy. Tomato was a bit green.

I went with the pan seared chicken. You'll have to wait for the next post for that one!

Hmmm trust me it tasted better than it looks! Actually anything these days tastes good if I dont have to cook it!

Then I settled in and got to read a whole book, with minimal interuptions. However there was one small thing....the hand basin was out of action with a pile of wipe packs dumped in the sink...try explaining that one to the minors. (Ew thats biscustin')

It was a pretty uneventful flight and yes all meltdown passes were in tact!

Then just as we had landed, a call over the PA system, you know the one where it does relate to your next flight....we had to report to ground staff! It wasn't that bad just the flights departure had been delayed by an hour. So we were at midnight Montreal time and still had three hours to go until we left again. The worst thing would be if they all fell asleep in the lounge.

After a fair hike to get there, we tucked ourselves up in a corner of the lounge, got into our pjs, wipped out the ipad/leapster explorer/books etc found some pretzels and fizzy drinks (soft style, there was no grown up bubbles). There were two whites and to be honest, I've had better wine out of boxes that cost less than $10 and I cant drink reds.... Kids proceeded to eat most of the fruit bowl of apples and the nice lady went and found the little monkeys some bananas...then it happened one of them fell asleep!

020.jpg

Thats the self serve bar area behind us, there was a larger one that was centrally located. We stayed away from that one, although a couple of ladies didn't!!!

When the flight was called we threw our stuff back into our bags, woke the sleeping one (no chance of me carying him, he is almost as tall as I am) and got on the next flight.

Kids were happy to be "in those seats that turn into beds with tv screens", the sleeping one crashed again before we even took off while the other two spent a bit of time playing with the seat and the amenity kit. Its pretty average but the hand cream has bergamont in it so I am happy.
