There appears to have been a change to the F Lounge access policy at SIN T3.

I've just arrived off a F redemption SQ833 from PVG to SIN. Now I am soon departing in J to BNE. My boarding pass was printed in PVG with an invitation to the SIN First lounge.

I thought a traveller had to be departing in F to get F lounge. The haven't let me in TPR though I did ask.

Just thought I'd put that out there to see if it can be clearly explained.

Cheers,

Alby

Alby I don't know the answer but I am testing the SQ First product to Manchester next Sunday out of SIN. I will be in your same return 11 days later to go in J to PER
from SIN so I may have the answer in about three weeks.

OK, the test will be on the return leg. Sounds like a great flight. I have Mrs Albatross710 booked F in MAN in August. I look forward to any tips you might have from that journey.

Ok ,I will let you know.
As I was booking the PER-SIN outgoing one of the reasonable time J flights vanished so I have a 1 am and Mrscove has a 3pm.
Last minute bookings can be like that so I have a room at Changi Crowne Plaza with a 6pm check out.

The policy seems unclear and appears to rest in the hands of the check in Agent.
Earlier this year at check in at SFO in a mixed class with J SIN to BNE I asked for, and was given a lounge pass for SIN and it included TPR, although Mrs TOF prefers to go
to T2 and use the lounge - finds it more comfortable and relaxing - I don't know how it will be now that the T2 lounge is being renovated.

This trip was the first time that I have seen the invitation printing onto the boarding pass. It may have been there before but first time I have seen it. The BP had words something like :

"You are invited to SilverKris lounge." / "You are invited to First lounge."

If they are leaving it up to the Checkin Agent that is good news. At least we know it is negotiable!

I might post the same question on SQTalk and see if there is more inside word.

any update on this? As far as I'm aware, if you are flying F and connecting to an onwards flight (on the same ticket) with J only, you will be entitled to use the First class lounge.

That was my situation and it seems reasonable.

However the StarAlliance guidance says:

  • Customer must present a boarding card for the same day travel in international First Class on a Star Alliance flight
  • Customer must be departing from the local airport in International First Class
  • Customer is entitled to one guest

Refer: Lounge Access Policy - Star Alliance
