Hi
I am booking a flight from Venice to Split and the cheapest option appears to be via Budapest. I thought it was all on Malev but the Venice - Budapest is on Carpatair. Does anyone know anything about them. Their description of the metal is 'Propjet 2 Engines' which i think is a Saab 2000.

The only propjet they have are the SAABs so you are on the money, have not flown them myself, apparently Romanian based and operating for some time, were founded as Veg Air so the name change is not surprising.

Why did I have this image in my head when I read this thread:

thanks simongr, my initial thoughts about it were along those lines.:)
I discovered it is Romanian and owned by Nicolae Petrov who started this and Moldavian Airlines. He was an air force instructor pilot after graduating in 1987 “Kacha”, the most famous fighter pilots school in Soviet Union.
I must stop watching air crash investigation.
