Hi all I have a question,

I am traveling to Dubai on a Qantas codeshare flight (EK metal) and transiting before heading off on another Qantas codeshare flight (EK metal) QF8121.

My friend is arriving into Dubai on an EK flight and is then catching the same onward flight out of Dubai but on an Emirates ticket EK121.

The rules on the Qantas website state that I am allowed to guest one person into the lounge if they are *traveling with the member on the same flight*. I am on QF8121 and they are on EK121. Same plane but different ticket issuers.

Will I be able to guest them into the EK F lounge?

I would guess yes; the QF site explicitly says "flight number" when it needs to, so the fact that it doesn't in this case suggests it just has to be the same metal. YMMV of course.

This may well be a question for Red Roo...

I think this will be up to the discretion and rules interpretation by the EK Lounge Angels in DXB and I'm fairly certain they will permit you to guest your friend as they are travelling on the same flight as you.

I'm sure you'll be able to do that, its not abnormal to have different tickets travelling together.
I did once try to guest someone in where we'd come off the same flight (CPH-DXB) but were going onwards to different destinations (DXB-PER & DXB-SYD) and that didn't work sadly (I hadn't read the rules, so my own fault).

How did this go ?

in 3 opportunities flying with a 13yo I was denied once but given age was permitted in and allowed twice without bother.
