Managed to pick up some sort of tummy virus whilst in Sydney early last week. Flying home to Perth with DJ, besides the obvious uncomfort, I developed unbelievably cold shivers. No rugs kept on board but a very concerned female flight attendant brought me down her own jacquet to keep myself warm plus a bottle of heated drinking water as a makeshift hotwater bottle. How good was that for a no frills airline! As a longtime QF f/flyer and long-suffering QF shareholder - little things like this, stick in your mind!

Had a very similar experience, albeit without a jacket from the crew, on a Jq flight a couple years ago, though I wasn’t cold so didn’t need one. It’s great when you get crew that go that extra mile :)

Hi Rolly,
We'd love to know the name of the cabin crew member if you caught it?
Could you send it via private message?
Thanks

I've seen DJ crew twice give bottled water and assistance to passengers who were clearly having trouble. Great to see.

Stories like these are great. Full credit to the crew.

I would like to think, though, that this is because all of us are human beings and we do these for others, not that it takes a company or a policy for this to happen.

I once sprained an ankle rather badly whilst embarking a QF service at SYD. I was in a spot of pain in the aerobridge and the CSM and other FA who was greeting pax noticed immediately. Both became very concerned, prepared an ice pack and would be more attentive to me during the flight if only I told them not to worry about me.

I got a similar doting treatment on QF when I threw up on a flight.

Unfortunately although my condition had eased a bit, I wasn't able to identify or thank the particular FA when we arrived in Perth but if it's any help here's the flight details: DJ571 Tue 18 Jan 2011 Sydney to Perth 2030hr - 2235hr. You may be able to track it back from there.

Good to hear.

I had similar service from all QF cabin crew members on a BNE-SYD flight the day after I left hospital after chicken pox incident last year. I was in a mess and not very mobile.

I specifically asked for a spare seat and was allocated 25F (on a 737) with a spare seat next me and the FAs kept coming around asking if there was anything i needed. Then I waited for everyone to disembark as I needed to wait for wheelchair and the CSM asked me to sit in business class while waiting. Offered glass of water or juice while we were waiting.

It was a nice gesture and greatly appreciated at a difficult time for me....
