I am currently planning a work trip to the US in March (Washington and Boston), and came across a fantastic tool on the oneworld web site (oneworld - Downloadable Timetables).

The downloadable software has up to date timetables for all OW flights for the next 12 mths and allows you to plan and save various itineraries. Absolutely fantastic.

They also have a fantastic round the world software package as well - Simongr would like that one (oneworld - Itinerary Planner)

Only drawbacks I can see are:

1. You need to be careful about connections, as it provides no guidance as to whether or not you are likely to make the connecting flight you have chosen; and

2. no guidance as to classes available on the flights (although the aircraft type is usually a good indicator).

Not sure if other people have used this or not, but I reckon it's great.

Also, am planing the trip as a J pacific circle fare (26k miles) (also cheaper than a return flight, but as I'm not paying, not as critical), as I can usefully spend a day in HKG on the way back. Am keen to maximise the miles and SCs (although maintaining WP will not be a problem next year) but do not want to kill myslef on the trip,as will only be away for around 8 - 9 days.

Any suggestions for simple mileage bonuses ?

cheers

Been playing with the old version for a while, but they recently updated it so that I lost previously "saved" Itineraries  .

But the new one does flash red at the bottom if you are trying to make a connection that does not fit within a default time (not sure how long it is).

At the end of your trip a window pops up and says congrats you have completed a explorer trip ...or something like that.

Was very handy for me as I was then able to go to the TA and tell her this is a Valid ONE4. As she was trying to tell me my delayed segments to Perth and back couldn't be done,.............ah yes they can because I read it on AFF :p and now I have proved it !!!
