Great clip on 1549 that went down in the Hudson-shows all angles

Thanks for the link Spruce. It really sheds some light on how quickly the events transpired. Everything moves fast in NYC & ATC conversations are no exception.

I see US Air inherited the call sign "Cactus" from America West post merger. Bit of confusion with the callsign of 1549 some referred to as 1529 - just as well there wasn't a 1529 airborne at the same time or it could've got quite confusing.

I'll bet when Capt Sullenberger said "uh, what a view of the Hudson today" he wouldn't have had any idea just how close a view he would ultimately get barely 90 seconds later.

I'd always thought he did the take-off but it was actually the F/O's sector then immediately after the birdstrike he takes over the controls calling "my aircraft" to which the F/O responds "your aircraft".

Doesn't look like the Port Authority knows their airline call signs as they had to ask what airline Cactus 1549 was.
