Gold Status seat selection

I am currently gold status. I have been making a couple of domestic bookings of late and the only seats that are being offered up to me for selection are seats towards the back of the plane. It use to be from about row 7. I am not flying the cheapest fare either. Have I missed something?

I booked a Melb-Bris flight for my husband who is gold last week and row 7 was available both ways. He was on the cheapest fare, so maybe that's where you are going wrong? Kidding!
Try the CC, as the were able to move my red colleague up to row 3 to sit next to me

When booking are you logged in to your vff account? Seat selection is based on availability, could be that you're on a busy sector. You may also have better options closer to departure date.

Being Gold as well I almost always get row 7 but as suggested I have had a couple of bookings made at late notice recently and busy sectors have resulted in only getting row 9 or 10. I check within the 48 hour window to see what else becomes available and ask at checkin.

Sometimes it's best to stay where you originally allocate.

Had 7D for todays flight and moved to vacant row 4D late last night. Not a full flight. On boarding 4EF allocated and think 7E vacant along with 8DE. I would rather a spare seat next to me more than being in rows 3-5.

Should always check when checking in or even in lounge.
