Expecting DSCs to not be offered this year, I booked business sale flights to Auckland for October. A good deal, but the sale is still on at the prices I booked.
Now, given the DSC offer, can I cancel those tickets and simply rebook the same flights on the same day, thereby gaining double status credits? I have read the earlier posts and apologies but it is not clear to me...
As the tickets on sale today are the same price as those already booked, I am assuming that I would need to bank a voucher for the $1300 or so already spent and use that on later flights, and then just buy new tickets?
Would this work for DSCs? Or is there some algorithm in the Qantas systems that would recognise the original booking and cancel any DSCs?
These are the conditions on the flight I have booked:
Cancellation (including no show)
Before and after departure:
No refund
This fare may be used as a credit towards the payment of any higher fare from the point of origin, provided the new fare conditions are met. A reissue fee of A$175 per person applies. If the new fare is cancelled, the original cancellation fee will apply. This credit must be used within 12 months of the original tickets date of issue.
