Woolworths has a promo offer on gift cards this week, but without the wish cards.
Save 20c off fuel when purchasing David jones, Diva, red balloon, best restaurants, good food guide, skype, hoyts, dymocks, isubscribe.

It doesnt interest me too much, apart from a nice meal at posh restaurant. But throwing it out there for others.
Most be a way to move out less popular gift cards.

Coles - Buy $50 "Visa Only 1" Gift Card & Get $10 off Next Purchase ($5.95 Fee Applies) - OzBargain

In this weeks Coles catalogue, buy a $50 Visa One Gift Card (note a $5.95 admin fee applies, total cost $55.95) and get $10 off your next Coles shop.
Essentially you get a $50 gift card (accepted whereever Visa is) plus $10 off your next shop for $55.95… giving you a $4.05 profit on each card purchased.

First stop had none...

Similiar thing last week. After deciding to oil the deck, went to Coles and purchased $100 Bunnings gift card on the Plat Edge. Off to Bunnings to get the oil & sundries and now the deck looks pretty spick.

FWIW, I bought a wish gift card for $250 yesterday at my local Woolies... and then walked right next door and purcahsed a nexus tablet from DSE for $249... all on my plat edge card! :)

I appear to have missed the reasoning behind this. Purchase WISH gift card, which doesn't earn EDR points, but you do earn CC points. Spend gift card in DSE, no points earned, so apart from avoiding the Amex surcharge in DSE, nothing much gained as you would have earned CC points in DSE anyway?

I'm assuming it was purchased with a Platinum Edge AMEX giving hummel 750 MR points. (3 x 250)

Points earn is 3 pt/$ spend, so for $250 = 750 Amex MR pts. Pretty good by my reckoning. ;)

Does DSE have a surcharge on AMEX??? Sorry if this has been covered.

Don't forget to buy your masters gift cards before you go and buy that new whipper snipper... I know I did :)

Bugger, I forgot about Masters. Bought a $220 clothes lines & rapid set cement a couple of weeks ago. D'oh!

Buy Wish Cards. They work at Masters, and if there's any left over you can finish off the balance at Woolworths if you really have to.

A Bunnings trade card is available if you have an ABN, and can put a few dollars through each month. The business needs to be construction related - however 'computer hardware and infrastructure' worked for me.

The minimum is nominally $200, but I have gone the odd month with little or no spend, so I think it is averaged. It is not a credit account, purely a discount card. It will give about 5% off most things, with the exception of power tools. Some things (trade specific like timber) get a bigger %.

With Bunnings being pricey and with you in Melbourne I would go to Costco to see what stock they have first. You may as well save a real chunk.
I will be visiting a Costco store in about 9 weeks in Los Angeles.
Bunnings have dropped about 700 vendors from their range so if you cannot find your favourite items go to the other guys to get it.

Cove: Are aussie membership cards accepted in there american stores?

Yes they are accepted in America and everywhere else. Costco had 2 suitcases for $89.95 US that an Australian retailer had for over $400 AUD. Costco rely on annual membership subs and based on the suitcases you can recover that charge in 5 minutes.
