Gift Cards at Supermarkets

Unless it's a convenience store then it's only 1 point on platinum edge.

A while ago I purchased a $1000 V Card from an IGA, which netted 3000 Amex points. I then requested a refund from V Card for a completely unused voucher, and whilst it took about 6-8 weeks, I received a cheque for $1000 plus the card fee (about $5.50 from memory!). So 3000 points for nothing. The manager of the IGA subsequently didn't want to sell me another V Card since he didn't like the cost of the Amex transaction... :)

Every 7/11 i've been to posts as 2ppd on the Edge. If i work early early mornings its sanga and coffee for breakfast @2ppd, if later in the day its 3ppd at the woolies coffee shop :p

Should have bought him a carton to strike up a "friendship" and persuade him to continue to allow it :p

So yeah went to the same 7/11 intending to buy that 1k visa card, was told they made a mistake and that they can sell VPay ones at $5.50 per card with max recharge of $300.00. Went to another 7/11 and they had phyiscal VPay Vouchers with max charge at $500.00. Still not a bad deal considering you are getting double amex points.

Vpay is not rechargable. its once off use.
Need to find something with $1k value , easier to use and safe time. Considering this can be use to pay ATO bills. hard to imagine to purchase $500 x 20 vpay cards :(

Yes physical will be preferable for use at stores that don't accept Amex, but this is as good as it gets, previously champion was Flightcentre Visa at Coles $250 at the loading fee of $7.95. Triple point mind you, but an insane amount of cards needed for ATO.

At any rate you would not want to trip any alerts and kill this thing by buying $40,000.00 in one go.

oh no, I cannot imagine this happening here. people are always sooooooo sensible ;)

Anybody got any ideas where to get wish cards from (with the 5% off and 3ppd) now that the membersgiftcards.com site doesn't take Amex anymore??

I've looked and looked and looked but had no luck yet! Happy for PM if somebody would be kind enough to share!

Well entertainment book would be great if only I had a code... tried googling one with no such luck... anybody care to share?

I have used pricepal & works well , especially not having to wait for snail mail & best of all for me was being able to specify the amount of the E gift card so you can close out credit card points balances before canceling .

NRMA now has a link to Woolworths web site, offering 5% off gift cards, and no shipping fee for plastic physical cards (I just tested). 3 point per $1 for Edge card of course.
