Gift Card.... insurance from CC?

Hi all,

Has anyone investigated that if you buy a Gift card on a PLAT CC (1 year extra insurance) and then buy an appliance with the gift card....do\can you actually claim\use the insurance on the appliance supplied by CC?
As you have both receipts showing CC purchased the GIFT CARD and that THE Gidt Card was used to purchase the appliance.

It would boil down as to what your PDS says, I doubt any coverage is current as it would be like getting cash and doing the same.
