I am a QFF bronze like to get to silver, this April, wife and I are booking CNS/SYD on Q in Y, then SYD/BKK/SYD in J with BA (latter is $4K each so a lot less than Q), will this get me any more Q status points or must it be a Q flight No.?.

Business Class on any OneWorld airline (flight number and operator) earn the same Status Credits as flying with Qantas. So your BA flight, providing its booked in J, D, C or I class will earn full business class status credits.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Don't know how many status points I might get by any chance?.

Assuming you’ll be flying back to CNS at the end? You would be 20SC short of making Silver, if you didn’t fly back to CNS at the end you’d be 40SC short.
