Looking at flying OOL - SYD next week and am trying to decide whether to go with Getaway or Elevate. I am only flying to reach gold status while this double status credit promotion is running. I've tried searching this thread ( http://www.australianfrequentflyer....-velocity/new-va-fare-structure-77594-52.html ) but cannot find whether Getaway or Elevate differ in status credits and/or points if flown prior to 2017. I understand the changes come in place in January but what about right now? Are both those fare classes considered 'Discount Economy' when travelling?

Cheers

The usual amount of status credits (not including DSCs) will apply, until 30 Jan 2017. Yes - Getaway and Elevate are both considered discount economy fares.

The biggest difference won't be points or status credits (until Jan 30), but the ability to fly ahead *is* currently removed from Getaway fares, and enforced.

What double SC thing? did I miss something?
