Hi guys,

general question around some of those Credit Card deals that include $0 fees for the first year.
Is it possible to just cancel the Credit Card after the first year without any issues and by that avoid paying the Credit Card fees from month 13 onwards?

Cheers
David

Yes, I do this all the time with no issues

Definitely yes. Cancel in writing is my tip just in case they ignore you - as Jetstar is currently doing to me.

It is simple, they always will try and help you keep the card

Be prepared to be nicely firm.

Sometimes they surprise you by giving you free annual fee the next year or perpetually

I had the annual fee waived on my HSBC Plat (QF) card for three years after the initial free year, including getting the QC vouchers every year. When the didn't offer it the next year, I went through with the cancellation.
