Maybe MEL - do you put your shoes on couches? I don't - not on my couch - not on your couch - not on troopers couch - not in TPR and not in Owners Lounge in Double 6 - my mother would have kicked my cough if she ever saw me do that - clearly others think that is acceptable.

And I apologise to the general AFF community for taking this thread off topic - my last post re this matter.

I don't, but is that the point? Others do (put their shoes on seats) - it's a fact of life. If it doesn't (or shouldn't) affect me, why worry?

Looking forward to seeing a TR of the new hard product. It's obvious the GA soft product has improved out of sight - assuming the hard product also does GA will be one of the best airlines I'm Asia.

Zuji or whatever was advertising GA AU-Europe for $4600 earlier this week (the deal has expired I think). Pretty good deal for the offering (and a stopover in Bali).

GA have regular prices under 5K to Europe. With the devaluing of AA from AU to EUR, we're now not chasing AA points as much for our Euro trips and will be using GA instead. Have done quite a few GA flights to DPS, and have done one to AMS return. We really liked them. If we need to pay $$ to get to EUR, its our airline of choice.

Thanks for the report Cruiser. Has inspired me to purchase GA J for our own Christmas / New Year trip to DPS, ex SYD. Paid AUD$2K return each PAX so happy with that price. Now I just have to find a 1bdr Villa in Seminyak. Also being VA WP & QF NB I didn't associate a FF scheme with the booking. Unsure what to do here, join Delta and credit points there? I'm status-matched with Alitalia but can't really see myself using them. No idea.

  1. 'Priority Tag' system for luggage worked perfectly in DPS - we were first to baggage carousel and I checked every bag off - Cruiserette's bag was 5th off and mine 20th off - ALL those 20 bags had 'Priority Tags' affixed - I did not check further - jeez if GA in DPS can get this right why can't other airlines in alleged superior ports?

When I flew VA to DPS last year my priority bag was among the last out. Reckon the delay led to at least 30 mins extra in the immigration queue. Food photos looked good, shame about the coffee, but is it ever much good? Thanks for the report, sounds like a good option.

Who is the resident expert re GA J pricing? Last year we paid A$1,720 for GA J MEL-DPS ret over XMAS period - currently showing A$2,520 similar dates this year - anybody with any clues as to possible future pricing movts?

i noticed this too, but even non-peak it's the same $2500.

Historical pricing is in the $1700-1900 range. not sure what's going on at the moment.

GA no longer seem to do the discounting they used to in J.

PER-DPS could be had at $800-900 but now is rarely below 1.1-1.3k.
