Hi all,
Hoping someone can share some knowledge on this for me.
Looking at US airways and American airlines frequent flyer programs, they have a offer at the moment for % bonus's to share miles.
My question is do you have to purchase the miles youerself 1st, and then share them?

I seemed to read a article this morning that seemed to indicate you could simply buy them while sharing them to someone else at the same time.

Anyone done anything like this before?

Many thanks

no takers on this one?

Have a read of specific threads on AA AAdvantage, US Dividend Miles & Avianca Life Miles.

I would sign yourself (& partner/spouse) up to the above three ff programs so you are in the box seat when there are bonus buy offers as you will get email notification of special offers.

US DM requires you to wait 12 days after signing up before a miles purchase can be made.

For AV LM you must already be a member to take advantage of bonus buy offers.

AA is slow as you can only get 60k points a year from direct points purchasing.
Our friends are doing pretty well with US Air Dividend Miles and one of my friends got 5 J tickets to go on one plane to Disneyland. Two kids have one 5 hour economy flight from Perth to Singapore on the run to Los Angeles. It cost 600k points and I am sure they will have a blast.
