Very generous of you, mine also expires end of Jan so am using it this weekend at IC SC. Didn't expect to be able to get free room this long weekend

Looks like it's back on the market. Thanks so much for the offer though chianshuin.

do you need to stay this weekend? Or can it be booked now for a later stay?

If the expiry date is the end of Jan, the stay needs to be either a Friday or Sat and the stay would need to be completed before the end of Jan.
So unless you can stay Thurs 30th as your paid night and take the 31st as the free night, it would need to be used this long weekend.
From previous experience some hotels can be a little slack in checking and/or even collecting the voucher.....depends if you want to be cheeky and try it on.

IF it's an (Royal) Ambassador Complimentary Weekend Night Certificate, it's actually a BOGO and it's not transferrable.

But I might be wrong!

Legally they are meant to be non transferable but they have no pre-printed name or number on them so in theory IHG can't actually trace the cert to any particular person.
The only requirement would be that they can only be used by an ambassador.

I guess so. Except that the member's details have to be filled out on the back and it needs signing by the member. I used one a couple of weeks ago (my own of course). If you are an Ambassador (or RA), which you have to be, then you'd maybe be using certificate #2 for the year ...?

My cert does not have anything to fill in?????

Here's a pic of the back of one (from the web). Mine was exp 12/2013.

Has he got you Markis ???

I'm not meaning to 'get' anyone!

I'm just trying to point out the practicalities of the offer:

1. You are not supposed to transfer the certs.
2. The weekend offer is really a BOGO and the 2 nights together have to be Fri+Sat or Sat+Sun. You still have to pay for 1 of the nights.
3. The cert expires end of Jan so that leaves just this weekend to use it. I doubt Fri Jan 31 + and Sat Feb 1 will be allowed (but the hotel might say ok).
4. You need to book via a special link (as per the cert).
5. You need to be an Ambassador (or Royal Ambassador) to use the cert.
6. You do need to sign it and there's a place on the back for your printed name your membership number.

But, if you can get the cert in time, and think you can use it, there is Complimentary Weekend Night Certificate availability at all the Australian ICs for this weekend (except Sydney)!! :)

Gee, I'm sorry ...
I have what some people refer to as a 'sense of humour' ...
At times, this is a terrible affliction. Just ask the people I apparently offend ??

I hope some of you appreciated my humour, in that Markis is well known to be THE expert on this Forum, and thus, to actually 'get' him to admit he didn't know / realise something about anything on this Forum is quite a rare occasion ...

Therefore ... Austman 'got' him ...
