Having accumulated numerous QFF points over my years as a WP QFF, I used a number of them for a few of my regular trips to Europe last year. On other occasions I had to fly on EK flights when there was no Q codeshare flight available for purchase on the Qantas website. As a result I lost my platinum status on 31 Dec 2016 and am now a lowly gold (Thanks Qantas - great loyalty - guess it only goes one way).

I will be flying from Berlin to Munich shortly but before I book a flight with Air Belin (being a One World partner) can anyone tell me if I can book a 'cabin baggage only' economy lite flight and use my free 'extra' checked bag allowance to check a single bag free of charge? If so, does my travelling companion get the same benefit even though she has no QFF status?

From memory there have been discussions and arguments about these policies between airlines, but I think the argument was basically "1 bag" versus more than 1 bag.
I would suggest calling and clarifying with them as there did seem to be some carrier interpretation going on and inconsistency between different pages on the oneworld site. So better to be sure from their point of view I would suggest.

yes I can confirm you will get a free bag even if on a bag free airfare

Thanks for confirming. Any idea whether my QFF bronze travelling companion will get the free bag also if we are booked together? Do you know if I or we get free seat reservation also?

Seat res yes - bag no

Re the thread above, as a QFF Gold if I was to book a flight+bag, would I get a 2nd bag free? Am considering Air Berlin for a flight at the end of 4 weeks away and will almost certainly need two bags. The website isn't clear on this as don't want to pay approx $100 for a 2nd bag if I don't have too.

Any ideas?
