Team, I'm travelling to the Rugby World Cup in Sept 23 and returning in Oct. I am Gold with QF with about 400k points. I want to fly J class to and from LHR (surface to France) but it's obviously a gamble. Any hints or suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: oops meant to say - using points to get to J class.

If you can get a seat on Qantas metal, go for it. If its on other carriers' metal, I'd say there was a risk of rescheduling by that airline, and then risk loss of ticket and I wouldn't do it. (I wouldn't fly Qantas either, but that's another story 🙂 ). Hopefully that risk is hopefully diminishing but still a risk, based on others' experiences.
