When we looked at Dresden hotels were expensive. The Westin~E250,Hilton about the same but the 4 points was E95 so we said what the heck.It is a little out of town but we had a car, besides a tram goes right past the hotel so not a major problem. The Westin is across the river from the Old town,The hilton has the best position.
Easy checkin and we are upgraded to a suite-not that large but very comfortable.Only a shower.Complimentary water plus a jug to boil and Twinings tea bags-mrsdrron is happy.
Found quite a few restaurants within a 100 metres.also a small supermarket,3 bakeries and 2 fruit shops so brekkie is no problem.Plus being in the suburbs everything is a lot cheaper so we felt a good choice for 2 nights.
Some pictures of the room-
