I've had no miles in for a few years, and a zero balance - I got the email.

I just used this to buy 108000 miles with the bonus. Used them straight away to book 2 reward return business class fares on Garuda to MEL/DPS over Christmas period. Worked out $2900 in total, so approximately half price.
