hey,

Does anyone know off the top of his or her head what the SC and points earn is on a BA ticket for this route?

Currently as WP you get 44000 pts and 120SCs for a deep discount fare, 240SC for full econ, etc.

Otherwise I'll attempt to calculate

If you have a stopover in SIN each way (or change planes instead of staying on the same flight #), you'll earn 30+40+40+30 SCs, otherwise if your BP reads "Sydney to London" or "London to Sydney", it's just 60 each way for Discount Y etc etc (same as QF). Points will be the same as QF on this route (see the fine print down the bottom of the BA page on the QF site that confirms this). :)

When is the OP going, the demise of the JSA March 31 will see the earnings change to 0.25 for discount economy, as the allowances for 1.0 on the London via Asia routes are part of that agreement.

Oh dear, that is a bit sad, I usually go 2x a year to London...

As I don't make WP1 but easily qualify for Platinum twice, maybe I should switch to AVIOS for those international flights after that time. I don't have any intention of going to London via Dubai for nostalgic reasons. I was contemplating AA but maybe that's a better choice.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Hmm well I realise that the increased earning rate is part of the JSA, but there are no notes in the T&Cs that this is changing (or on the BA page) - and they have to give at least 3 months notice for any "enhancements"... one can only hope that they forget to update it, or that BA continue to offer the increased points (as well as the Status Bonus).

The other option is to book in PE via BKK instead of SIN (if that is an option for you). While the SYD-BKK and BKK-SYD flights will be in Y (only a QF A330 on that route), the Y flights are booked into Y class (ie Full Economy for Status Credits and points), with the BKK-LHR and LHR-BKK flights in PE (which earns the same SCs as Full Economy). This would then be 60+80+80+60 (280SCs), for approx. $2800AUD return ex AUS (on certain dates), or ~$2100AUD return ex UK. Something to keep in mind ;)

The WT+ Sale fares are tempting at the moment (from about $2,600 for my dates).
To confirm, will the WT+ SC's earn stay at 1.0?
