G'day all,

In May I'm flying from Cairns to Darwin on Jetstar from the International Terminal.
Is there any difference between the domestic Jetstar & International Jetstar Aircraft? Seat size etc?

Also, does anyone know how Jetstar compare width wise with the other carriers? I'm not a blob, but am wide in the hips & thighs and sometimes have trouble. What would be the best seat for me... Aisle or Window?

Can't go the exit aisle, as my wife is travelling with me & requires a cane to get around (Vision Impairment)

Thanks in Advance. Have only just joined, but this forum has been very handy so far!

CNS-DRW uses Jetstar's A320 planes (ie the ones they normally use on domestic flights). So you won't really see any differences to normal Jetstar flights within Australia.

Remember to take your Australian Driver's license (or passport if you don't have an Australian Driver's license), and allow extra time to check-in and clear Immigration etc. I havn't double checked that it departs from the Intl terminal, but it seems to be the case.

BTW - Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome Mal. Wife needs to get her 18+ card changed before we fly. She's legally blind, so doesn't have a license. Will the 18+ card be sufficient?

Flight has been booked, and it says it's operated by Jetstar Asia.

Flight should be operated by Jetstar Australia - unless they changed things around (again) recently. They used to fly Singapore-Darwin-Cairns using Jetstar Asia planes, but were changing back to Australian based Jetstar planes from the 1st Feb 2008. I can't find anything that indicates that they've switched back to Jetstar Asia. Maybe someone else can confirm??? Either way, it's still an Airbus A320 on the route and seating will be similar.

As for an 18+ card, yes that's acceptable. From the Jetstar website:

Domestic flights within Australia departing from the International Terminal

If you are travelling domestically and departing from an international terminal, and are 18 years of age or over, you will need to produce photographic identification as below that includes your full name. Your boarding pass will have a special 'D' (Domestic) sticker. You will need to sign your name in the space provided and may also be required to record details of your photographic identification.

You must retain your boarding pass as you will need to present it at immigration and customs clearance points at the end of your journey. This is required to comply with the Migration regulations administered by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA).

The following are the only acceptable forms of photographic identification, all of which must be valid at the time of travel:

* National passport; or
* A motor vehicle driver's licence issued under a law of the Commonwealth of Australia, or of an Australian State or Territory; or
* A document that identifies you issued by:
o the Commonwealth of Australia, or
o an Australian State or Territory, or
o by an authority of the Commonwealth of Australia, or an Australian State or Territory; or
* An aviation security identification card issued by the operator of the aircraft or the operator of an airport in Australia

Children and infants are subject to the same identification requirements as adults, where they have an approved form of photographic identification. Exceptions from the identification requirements are given for children and infants travelling with an adult. If the child is travelling with a parent or guardian their name must be recorded on the back of their parent or guardian's boarding pass.

Keep in mind the 60 min close of check-in.
