Has anyone flown F on Emirates from Adelaide? I've splurged several years' worth of Qantas points on a EK F / CX J return trip to the UK as I'm only going to be there for a week and want to be reasonably fresh and rested when I land. My question is about lounge access and departures procedures in Adelaide. The only lounge is the Qantas Club which is before the X-ray and departures checks, so how do Emirates handle this i.e. do J / F passengers waiting in the Qantas Club get escorted through / given priority etc., or do we just join the scrum at the single X-ray machine? If the latter, any suggestions on the best time to head through - wait until the last minute in the moderate comfort of the QC and hope the queue has already moved through, or go through early (ahead of the queue) & wait in less comfort while airside, but board early and maximise the access to bubbly?

Yes. We have. Thanks to an operational upgrade from J.
Adelaide kinda sucks re Lounge experience. Just the basic QP before immigration. Then join the scrub. My tip? Board immediately. You do get priority boarding. Immigration queues aren't too bad at that time. Even though it isnt an A380 experience, F is still fantastic.

And when you get to Dubai there is a luxurious large 'van' with luxury leather seats dedicated to F class only. And that is special. I did a review on this in late December last year.

my experiences with ADL international departures (CX and MH) say wait in the lounge and head out maybe a few minutes before they call boarding. I've never experienced any significant queue, probably because most people have gone through already.
Zero point to hanging around in the fish bowl waiting for them to even commence boarding.

When I flew CX J ADL-HKG, there were hardly any queues when we do the scanning and immigration. Most people already lined up and we just went to priority boarding. It is a shame they don't have international lounge in ADL.

ADL international departures could hardly be described as a scrum. Riff-raff maybe, but not a scrum :)
