Have been trying to book flights from Washington to Perth via Dubai. It shows available (no icon saying different class) and goes right through to payment, but then says to start over. Spoke to Qantas and the Dubai Perth is not available. Even after a few weeks it is still the same. Now trying to book Washington to Chicago same thing, but when I rang Qantas the most rudest guy was trying to tell me there is something wrong with my computer, so tried my laptop and the same thing, start over. Has anybody had any problems such as this. Any help would be much appreciated

yes - i had this with partner flights. booked, supposedly 'paid' and then got an error message.

rang the call centre and they could see a 'shell booking' had been made. they did some stuff and managed to process it.

Thanks Mel_traveller, That makes sense, as I had made a booking from Chicago to Perth via Doha, and when I rang she could see it sitting there in my account booking, so she finalised my booking without a fee. The guy today wanted to charge me $60 each. Will give them a call again. Thanks

Obviously Qantas does not care.

Still having trouble with multi-city bookings ex-SIN.

mine was an interesting case... the award I was looking for involved 2 connecting flights, right at the limit of the award zone. availability for the two flights refused to show, but they were available individually. (note that flights from another city to my destination, well within the mileage zone, were not a problem)

so I booked my original itinerary as multi-city to secure the award, then ran into the payment error option.

at the time i suspected there was a glitch with qantas not wanting to give me an award that was right on max mileage. but that would perhaps be an unhealthy scepticism :(
