Hi - hoping to get some feedback on a redemption i am currently trying.

Am looking to book Perth to Hong Kong return. When the options come up the only flight available out of Perth is the 1:05am departure. 4 options are provided with various connections to Hong Kong. Interestingly when i try the flight as one-way 6 options come up, but they are still all depart at 1:05am.

As there are 4 departures each day from Perth I'm wondering why the other flights are not provided as options ? Is this another bug in the SQ website ?

Have searched for an answer on this to no avail.

Thanks.

Hi,

Not all flights have award seats made available on them. Only the least attractive flights are made available usually so this may be all you can get.

Krisflyer seem to have different award availability on certain flight combinations connecting in SIN. I think this is how it works as an example - only a certain amount of seats are made available on flights from Australia connecting to Europe so that seats will remain for redemption on flights connecting to Asia.

I had a similar problem once where I can see availability on separate flights from MEL-SIN and SIN-Asia. The flights won't show up online together as a single itinerary. I rang them up but they couldn't see the seats available as a single itinerary either. In the end I had to book the flights as separate award tickets.

When checking flight options to say Tokyo or Frankfurt, flights other than 1.05am become available. Maybe give them a call to see if they can override the options available online.

The major GDS's all have the ability for a carrier to vary availably on particular segments depending upon the origin/destination being sought.

I have seen this quite a few times, including QF & AA.

I don't know if you are still looking but it is possible to get other flights as my family of three redeemed points from Perth to Hong Kong return last year and we chose a morning flight with afternoon connection in Singapore arriving early evening Hong Kong. Returning we had a late morning flight connecting back to Perth by the evening. It must just be availablility for your selected dates. We did book over 6 months in advance.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
