The many flight tracking websites do a generally good and useful job. It's marvellous technology, unavailable 15 years ago to the public.

This morning (21 February) however DL41 is approaching SYD from LAX. The FR24 small panel on the plane says it's DL41, and the registration number (N705DN) for this B772LR is correctly showing in the information panel to the left of the FR24 displayed page.

However, FR24's panel shows the flight as 'TG491' (immediately under which it says is 'Delta Air Lines') with a photo above of a Thai Airways aircraft.

Is this a case of 'rubbish in, rubbish out' with the software, or some problem with a transponder from the Delta aircraft? TG491 is a BKK - AKL flight.
