Call me pathetic, but Virgin made my day today when they dished me cereal on my Flex Fare Syd-Mel this morning. :D

And then on the way home, there was no Luke Mangan cardboard wrap either, but a rather pleasant sandwich. Maybe Luke has been given the bullet finally?!

Anyway, thanks for listening to us complainers Virgin!

I'd actually be unhappy if I was given cereal, but maybe that's just me.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

What would you prefer? That's what Qantas offer as well.

Yep and that is one major reason a saver fare with DJ beats a breakfast flight with QF, IMO.

To the OP, I had a sandwich on a flexi fare on about 31 October. So I'm not sure it is that new. But the sandwich was great.

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

IMHO next to the alternative, cereal is awesome. Would you prefer the dry greasy walnut muffin they normally serve for breakfast?

But on Qantas I can put a special meal request in for a fruit platter. I'll take half a dozen fresh strawberries and a peeled+chopped orange over cereal anyday (and going by the envious looks I often get from surrounding pax, I don't think I'm the only one)

And besides, I'm lactose intolerant. I can get away with either cereal or a cappuccino but not both :)

I don't buy flexi fares anyway unless they are the cheapest fares available.

I flew back ADL-SYD last night in Biz.

Chose the Luke Mangan flat noodle Asian salad.

It was like eating a box of shredded plastic or coloured cardboard strips. Poured on both the both Pepper sachets and no difference. Added the alleged Asian" dressing, and that had no flavour either. BLAND as could be,

Hey it was "free" but geez it would want to be. It I paid 10 bucks for that junk I'd send it back. Margo had the pie which are at least always consistent.

And what it is with the wine on Virgin? Two totally unknown brands for the red and white. Surely a large supplier would step up, do them at a buck a bottle for the good advertising and Virgin would have a decent brand at all times.

I agree the noodles aren't special. But keep in mind DJ do not offer business trans Tasman yet, only PE. I'm waiting for j implementation before I pass too many comments on the state of PE.

Heyheyhey! lay off the noodle box!

it's not all bad, untill the dressing runs out and youre eating tasteless rabbit fodder ;)

I agree about the tasteless rabbit fodder.

The entire box was full of it.
