First name typo in domestic Virgin flight: First letter wrong.

Hey, my colleague booked a flight, but mispelled her first name. Just one letter (the first) wrong. 1h ago.
Any advices to get it fixed for free?

Not answering, or helpful for your question sorry, but I book quite a few people on Virgin and appreciate that they match the name and Velocity number during the booking process, if I have a typo it won’t let me continue

I did get a name wrong for someone who had not given me their Velocity number, and they were able to board

Ah, ended up calling, was concerned they would charge, but it was an obvious mistake, right after booking, so they waived the fee.

I think that usually comes under name correction not name change so it can't be sorted relatively easily.

Also for future reference, while VA doesn't offer a 24-hour cancellation option like QF, I have found them to be very reasonable if you make obvious mistakes and call immediately. I recently made a very amateurish mistake booking a flight on the wrong date (which is far more subjective an "error" as all they have to go by is you telling them so) and they offered to cancel it for free without a hassle so I could rebook at my leisure (that did go into the Travel Bank, but fine if you're dealing with an honest mistake and not trying to sneak out a refund).

Had the same experience when booking a VA award for my parents a few weeks ago - realised shortly after booking that I'd accidentally missed a letter from one of their surnames. Immediately fixed and reissued for free. VA Gold but I don't think that made any difference.
