I've booked my parents some first class flights on Emirates from SYD to Skopje (Macedonia) via DXB. I usually travel Virgin (oz) and Etihad (intl) so am a bit new to 'that' side of the airways ;) Can (should) they use the Qantas First lounge since EK only have a business lounge in SYD?

Their second flight from DXB is J with Fly Dubai (only direct flight and no F, on same ticket). Can they use the EK F lounge or do they have to go to J since next flight is J?

Many thanks!

Sash.

No issues with using the F lounge in Sydney, however in DXB it will be whatever lounge FlyDubai use if in fact there is one (I suspect there is).

Yes, "should". Most F Lounge users try to get there say 3 hrs before departure to make full use of the excellent facilities :) (including Spa treatments).

Not sure if a paid EK pax can book ahead, but if not, if they go to the Spa immediately on arrival (far left hand end), they should be able to book a spot if they arrive early enough.

The food in the 'restaurant' in the lounge is excellent but the area can get a bit crowded so again if they want to breakfast or lunch (I can't recall when the EK flight departs) they might want to nab or reserve a table as soon as they arrive.

I guess they are flying EK F on their way back? The F lounge at DXB is pretty special.

Does EK allow arrivals access in DXB? That may give F lounge access before the FZ flight.

This article suggests flydubai operates from T2 at DXB and was due to open a Business Lounge in 2013
https://flydubai.com/en/news/article/flydubai-is-ready-for-business/

But nothing is shown on the T2 map

Note that FlyDubai only started operating Business class in Oct-2013 and is still rolling it out to various routes over 2014

Emirates doesn't operate from T2 so even if there was lounge access don't think you could access it

I take it this is an EK codeshare on a FZ flight ??

Thanks for the advice RooFlyer. I'll definately direct them accordingly so they can make full use of the facilities.

They are flying the same format on their return, the the DXB F lounge will be great.

moa999, they will need to transfer to T2 unfortunately, so it wouldn't be a good idea to relex in a T3 lounge then try to time the move. The map shows the grey box to the left of "Dubai Airport Offices" in the centre as first and business lounge, but no other information.

I'm not sure of it's a codeshare. The eticket shows FZ 791 so not sure if the is a EK number as well. Thanks for the links.
