Hi There

Tried to egress Australia, and it turns out the full name, say "JohnSmith" was actually their system thinking "JohnSmith" was the surname, not the joining of first and second names. I've never seen any issues before, and to see names without spaces is quite common on travel itinerary/tickets.

Rocked up to airport, China Southern just said "it doesn't match speak to aunt betty".. Called AuntBetty said they would contact China Southern and sort it out, but they actually did nothing according to China Southern at the checking. End result, purchase a new ticket on the spot direct with China Southern for $$$.

Anybody had to deal with something similar? AuntBetty are being very unresponsive on any medium unfortunately.

ATAS complaint?
Credit Card chargeback?
Go to a no-win-no-fee lawyer?

Thanks

This isn't exactly uncommon in the way bookings are ticketed by OTAs. however Chinese/HK airlines are known to be super duper strict on names matching passport precisely and exactly. I really am not sure how you'd best approach this...maybe FTCG head office as a starting point? Be curious to see what other members think...

Having never heard of Aunt Betty (2 words) googled.

Flight Centre Travel Group Limited trading as Aunt Betty ABN 25 003 377 188 ACN 003 377 188 ATAS - Travel Accredited No. A10412.
Again booking directly with the airline usually better. If a problem far easier to resolve.
