Hi,

I have been keeping my eye on AY award release for their BKK to HEL route for a while now as looking to book for August next year (in J).

I noticed that they release the seats on this route at 299days out.

However I have noticed that they have still not released any rewards seats from 01/07/24 onwards (in Y or J). Using the 299day rule they should have put some out by now, but it all stops after 30/06/24.

I have confirmed this on searching Expertyflyer, Qantas FF, Finnair FF. The route is still on the timetable for July 2024 on their website.

Anyone know what could be up here?

Makes it harder when it seems like they don't release any J award fares for SIN to HEL too.

Thanks

Thanks for the article.

Do you think that would have a correlation with them stopping releasing award tickets on one particular route in 10 months time though?

If they're selling revenue fares, my best guess would be they've stopped releasing award seats for the peak European summer period. A lot of airlines have done that, especially with the Paris Olympics next year.

Finnair is changing to revenue based ff earning and using avios as the ff currency in 2024.
So expect many changes.
