Just heard on talk back radio (from someone apparently on the flight) that a Qantas MEL-PER flight had to be diverted to ADL. Two guys allegedly fought prior to the flight, then boarded and continued (at least that's what I think the guy said) to fight onboard. One guy bleeding quite heavily from a cut above the eye, and vomiting as well. I think he said 6 or 7 people were offloaded at ADL.

Sorry this is bit vague, I only caught it part way through, and have not found an online reference to it yet. Not even sure if it was a flight today, or in the past. The guy also mentioned lifetime bans from flying QF.

Aren't they now billing PAX for diversions like this now as well as banning? That should have some effect hopefully.

we can only hope..ALL airlines AND rail AND bus companies need to band together to restrict the movement of those that can't seem to interact responsibly in a social / public area.... (this applies to local, interstate and international travel) ....don't shift the problem to another mode of transport... yes i hear those that will say it's a 'guy thing'..it's the 'heat of the moment'...blah blah blah...I'M OVER THESE MORONS ..LET THEM WALK..(but unfortunately.. then the rescue services will be left to pick up the pieces of their stupidity)....IF YOU CAN'T KEEP YOUR 'EMOTIONS' IN TACT IN PUBLIC..STAY HOME!!. DON"T GO OUT AND DISRUPT MY OR OTHERS LIVES....i know i'm gonna get backlash for my post..but i dont care..

Little info on this story. They were offshore workers that had just finished their last swing on the rig (job had finished) and they got blind drunk and some how was allowed to board the plane.

Above is right that they got kicked off all but one that was asleep and didn't see or hear a thing.

They all lost their payouts from the big company they worked for and also have been barred for life from stepping foot on that companies jobs world wide.

Is there any way to stop these morons from causing these type of delays?

Life bans? I am all for it.

While there is no excuse for that kind of behaviour, the airline needs to take some responsibility for this too. If they were indeed "blind drunk" prior to boarding, then they should never have been allowed on the flight in the first place.

That's right no excuse. The info above was from a mate of mine that was working on the same rig. He said it would of cost them all about 300k in lost payouts
