Can anyone help my friend. Her husband died of a long illness over 12 months ago. He had many ff points and transferring them to his wife was not a priority.
Is there anyone she can contact at Qantas to find out if special consideration can be given re the points.
She is still receiving statements with the points addressed to her husband. She has contacted qantas three times with no outcome.
thank you, trish

Under the T&C's, upon death, the points are cancelled.

"8.3 Membership will terminate automatically on the death of a Member. Points earned but not yet redeemed or transferred prior to the death of the Member will be cancelled. Qantas will close the Member's account on notification of the Member's death. Qantas will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered by any person as a result of such cancellation."

Now, Qantas doesn't know about this at the current point of time. Once they know, they will most likely refuse to transfer points and will just close the account per the T&C's.

The only option I know of is to get access to the account and transfer the points without advising Qantas of the death.

A tricky situation that the person involved may not want to do (also morally dubious and something Qantas could come back on if they wanted to).

This is not advice. This is purely hypothetical.

Does she know his QF FF PIN? Does QF know he has passed on?

My wife knows my PIN and has used it to book flights for herself. (I have explicitly told her she can do so whenever she likes, of course.)
