Yes, you will get PJs on day flights in F/R.
Enjoy the flight and post lots of photos
Just had an amazing experience in the new suites and now chilling in the Private Rooms.
In a nutshell the suites are spacious and feel very isolated. The partition between 1A (SO) and 2A (Me) had been lowered before we boarded. The crew were incredibly welcoming (as they are famed for) and seemed just as excited as we were with the hard product.
1A is definitely larger than 2A and 3A however it is an odd configuration and you are sitting forward of the windows during take-off and landing positions. Hence if you are one who enjoys staring out the windows you would be quite disappointed or you would have a sore neck.
The various compartments are interesting but I found it hard to utilise the space - the day amenity kit (that with the candle) was placed in one compartment but that meant you could not close the compartment whilst the kit was located within. Likewise another compartment where the earphones were placed within - again you would not be able to close the compartment with the headphones within. I left my phone, passport and boarding pass in the compartment with the mirror and lights. Another thing to note was that the lids seem to stick and there seems to be an issue with fit and alignment.
The tablet allows you to control your entertainment and lighting in the suite amongst other things. It is quite useful and there is a holder on the side where the dining table is located - however that is just a holder and not a charger. Leslie indicated that the table had about 90 minutes charge on it. We had an issue with the table for 1A as it could not be removed from the charger. Apparently there is a mechanism that locks the tablet in place during take-off and landing - and this had somehow locked in place this trip. Leslie and Paul had to utilise a screw driver to remove it from the charger.
I'll stop here for now as I'm dying to grab a shower. I'll add a few more observations to end this lengthy post. The beds are quite comfortable however my SO mentioned that it was harder than the Qantas First Class seats we flew last year - she thought a slightly thicker padding would have been ideal. The doors are locked in place for take-off and can be unlocked on request...as mentioned previously this is ideal if there is a passenger across in the opposite suite - you dine facing that passenger and them facing you. Bathrooms are both spacious enough - the left bathroom is smaller due to the seat for the crew. TV screens are massive and are touch screens - but are just about useless if you do not lower the blinds during the daytime flight.
That's it for now. Happy to answer any questions and post any pics - I took a lot (can't say they're any good).
Edit: Yes we did get the Lalique pyjamas. Love the feel of these pyjamas.
