Choice of a free night certificate per four stays or ten nights or else double points.

October 1st through December 31st.

Excluded properties: Hilton HHonors - Q4 Excluded Hotels
Excluded rate/promo codes: Hilton HHonors - SRP Exclusions Q4
Free night certs valid for 6 months.

Offer valid for stays completed between October 1 and December 31, 2011 ("Promotion Period"). Hilton HHonors™ members must first register at HHonors.com/FastWays prior to check-in of your stay within the Promotion Period. Your selection of “Double Points” or “Free Night After Four Stays or Ten Nights” cannot be changed and applies to all stays completed during the Promotion Period at participating hotels (click here to see non-participating hotels). The ten nights need not be consecutive. The free night certificate will be delivered within six weeks of completion of the tenth night or fourth stay, whichever comes first. The free night certificate is valid at participating hotels in the Hilton Worldwide portfolio for 6 months after the date of issuance, as noted on the certificate. The free night certificate applies to one night’s standard room rate and corresponding taxes and does not apply to gratuities, resort fees or incidental charges. Redemption of certificate is subject to availability. You must follow all terms stated on the free night certificate when redeeming or certificate may not be honored. Members who register for "Double Points" will receive a bonus equal to the number of Base Points earned during a stay within the Promotional Period. Bonus Points earned on Base Points do not count toward tier qualification. Please allow six to eight weeks from completion of your stay for points to appear in your HHonors account. This offer is not transferable, is not valid for groups and cannot be combined with other select offers.

OK, I'll be the goose here and ask the bleedin' obvious......

It says...
  1. Do the ten nights need to be consecutive?
No, the ten nights do not need to be consecutive as long as they are all within the Promotional Period.

I was always under the impression nights had to be consecutive or they counted as stays.

My only comments are:

  1. You can't change your selection, so if you choose the free night, make sure you plan to stay 4 times or spend 10 nights; and
  2. I hope this offer is somewhat more fair dinkum than their "extend your stay" promotion (which I class as somewhat less than fair dinkum)
Also, do reward bookings count as "stays" and "nights" toward status tallies?

PS....sorry for formatting issues, my cut and paste from the HH site has bolded type not intended by me and the bold button won't turn off now.........I've busted the site

Unlike other similar promotions, Reward nights/stays do not count.

As to the 4 stays/ten nights thing. A stays is when you check in until you check out. a night is one night in a room.

If you select the free night options, then have four 1 night stays the you earn a Free night (Q3FN or whatever they are called). Have three three night stays and earn nothing!

Have three three night stays and earn nothing!

Is there any logic behind this concept? I know it's common across the board, but why? Given your example above, the person who patronises the hotel for 9 nights gets nothing but the one who patronises for 4 gets rewarded...........I've always thought I must be missing an understanding of their reasoning. Are multiple night discounts common or even possible? I can't recollect ever getting a reducing room rate depending upon length of stay, but maybe I've overlooked it.

BTW, The system works in my favour, as I'm usually a one nighter if I require accomodation at all.

I reckon this one is going to get a right royal bagging on FT.the last 2 SPG promos sure have and they were 3 stays for a free night and with current quarter triple points.
But at least with this one you do get the choice and if only 1 9 night stay coming up then the double points is the way to go.

And what happens with this promotion for those with complimentary Hilton membership?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

i always find the double points the best option:D

I've gone the points too. I'll stay maybe twice between now and Christmas, but 4 times is out of the question with them.

This promo is perfect timing for us...
I have registered for the HHonors MVP fast track to Gold for +1, and we have 4 separate stays coming up in the US in the next 10 days. So for around $500 for stays we would have made anyway he will get Gold and a free night.

This then frees me up to apply for the DJ Platinum HHonors Diamond early next year which times in pefectly for a few choice hotel stays. :D

excellent use of a promotion

I have gone for the free night as well, the stays option is handy for day use rates ;)

- havn't selected yet.

I have two USA stays coming up this month and one in December.

Could have a third stay coming up in November - if so, then it's a no brainer to take the free night.

Will need to suss this out in the next weeks.

WOOT! Just signed up and I already have 4 stays booked so perfect timing, I signed up for this one once before and used my voucher at the Conrad Bali in Mar this year, and i'm travelling in Europe next year, think I might have to use it in Paris or Dublin. And I requalify for Gold in my next stay, which is at the HSW on Thurs :D
