Does Qantas have any arrangements for Fast Track immigration at Singapore. I am travelling in First on QF1 from Sydney and need to meet some people arriving on an earlier Singapore flight and trying to work out a meeting time.

If you are first off the plane, you would not have a problem - immigration in SIN is efficient, processing has been quick every time I have been there

Clearly you have not been to SIN many times. I can't recall ever waiting more than a minute.

Like most things in Singapore they are scarily efficient , you will be out of there in a matter of minutes.

Sydney airport, please take note.

Every queue is a fast track queue in SIN. Although I was lucky enough to arrive at a meltdown once (out of dozens of visits in the past couple of years), and it was a 20-min wait.

From leaving aircraft to leaving airport is usually less than 20 mins...including 5 min walk from gate to immigration, and 15 min waiting for luggage. So HLO should be out of there inside 6 minutes...

I have had long queues a few times - -certainly not the norm. just depends on when you arrive and what else has arrived just before you. My last wait was around 20 mins when arriving from KUL mid-morning. I have not had delays arriving at most times that QF flights arrive.

+1. Done SIN arrivals 100+, never ever had to wait more than 10 mins each & every time.. Just wish any port in Australia could replicate this efficiency.

My last visit to SIN (March 25) the agents were looking for people to process. It was very quick. Same with departure.

20 minutes at the SIN immigration counter? Wow. I have never had that in SIN. And I've been there about 100 times (from all over on different airlines). 20 mins including waiting for luggage - yes, that can happen.

It can happen in T1, particularly if there is a convergence of flights - ie when some flights arrive early and others late and therefore are all arriving together. Although to be honest have only seen what I called long immigration queues twice at SIN, once at the QF end of T1 - C pier - when I think a few flights from Australia happened to land more or less at the same time, and once at the D pier end of T1 - again lots of Air Asia, Jetstar flights and throw in CX as well. Never in T2 or 3.

Never had to wait more than about 10 minutes at SIN. And that was coming into T3 off an A380 flight from SYD.

Sydney airport, please take note.

This criticism is probably best directed at the Australian govt who have made cutbacks to customs. Installing more smart gates at SYD would be a good idea likewise introducing outbound smart gates.

Never in T2 or 3.

This may be about to change though, as all flights from the budget terminal will be moved to T2 next month, as they are demolishing the budget terminal to make way for T4 (which I imagine would be a dedicated terminal for LCCs).

Although it helps that even those on employment passes can use the auto thumb-print gates in SIN. Those gates read foreign passports perfectly fine.

I haven't travelled to SIN as often as others here but my most recent experience was encountering an empty hall - our group was the only one at the desk at the time. In my opinion you would have to be pretty unlucky to face a noticeable wait there.

Yes, you can't blame the owners of Sydney Airport for this one. The latest budget does make provision for more SmartGates:

Two weeks ago I arrived on QF1 (F, HLO) and was in a cab heading to hotel about 5 mins after leaving the AC.

I more impressed that you got a cab that quick. That taxi line can be ugly some nights
