I don't do a lot of family pooling these days as we don't do much family travel any more with the kids becoming adults in the last couple of years. However I was trying to see if my wife could transfer SCs to me so I'd get over the line for achieving Gold this year. She could transfer points no problem but when she tried to do the SCs it said there were too many adults in the pool. I looked it up and it only shows my son in the pool - I assume as they became adults my other child and my wife (who became an adult a long time ago) got booted from the pool.

My question is: how can I change the pool? The website is most unhelpful (as usual) as all directions point to this page:
All that shows for me is me as the beneficiary at the top and my son's icon beneath it. There's no button on the page to change anything and all my searches take me back to the same page. Does it have to be changed in my son's account?

Any help much appreciated. Seeing as it's not set up properly now I'm guessing I won't get the SCs anyway.

Agree this is really vague. Same thing happened to me when my oldest turned 18 a few months back. From memory you need to log into your son's account and fix.

Yes I finally worked it out - no help from VA though. Got into my son's account and stopped the pooling. Then my wife could change hers. I don't know why hers dropped off though. Too late to get the SCs I need though.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Laptop came up as error, for me too, as in your case .
But using smartphone, I was able to change family pooling with VFF in regards to points and SC.
Immediate result too.

Without starting a new thread is there any chance of appealing to VA to be comped Gold any more? I got within 2 SCs but then my SCs from last year dropped over the edge so I went backwards. The SCs take about 4-5 days to credit so even if I'd reached it they may not have come through in time. I'd been Gold for about five years before last year and only didn't make it because it's 500 to hit Gold but only 400 to requalify. I've got a US trip booked plus a couple of domestic in the next month or so but maybe not enough for them to care, if they do comp any more.

I've heard a few times that they'll review your last few years and apply an average to see if that would have got you there. If in your previous couple of years you had more SCs than you need to maintain, you might get lucky.

Our son just got an email from Velocity advising him that, as he was due to turn 18 soon - he would be automatically removed from the Family Pooling to his dad (Mr Clipped). I am already pooling to Mr Clipped, and there can't be two adults pooling simultaneously. However they did advise our son that if he wanted to keep pooling, we would have to change donors - but the donor opting out would have to do it from their account. That would be me.

I don't bother explaining any of this to Mr Clipped, as his eyes glaze over. And son is autistic so all of this was blah blah blah. But I will log in and change things around to suit our circumstances. Mother knows Best 🙂
