A few days ago I booked an AA J award MEL-BNE-DOH-CAI fro next year. I had to pay extra miles because the DOH-CAI flight is in Z, First. Both BNE-DOH and DOH-CAI are on 77W aircraft.

The QR website also shows QR899 BNE-DOH as QSuites and QR1303 DOH-CAI as First, but Seatguru shows four variants of the QR 77W, none of them have First.

Is Seatguru out of date or is QR selling J seats as F on this route?

Bit like domestic US. IntraGulf flights are Y and F. Good for DOH lounge access but not point redemption

Only review I could find

Qatar has leased a few 77Ws from Cathay which have F.

Thanks! Not good news that the extra AA miles may be wasted, but I’ll keep fingers crossed that it will be one of the Cathay planes.

Although you do get access to the Al Safwa First lounge flying DOH-CAI in First, so that will be worth the extra miles!

At the moment the CX aircraft are only going to MLE and ZRH, but perhaps CAI will be added by the time you travel.

I tried to do a dummy booking on Qatar web site but could not get F to display - best I get a grownup to help me
