I'm looking to fly back from TPE to SYD next year.

The SQ online system seems to do it's best to minimise transit time and you have to select both flights within the pairings it gives.

Does anyone know how to get around this without needing to call the call centre?

There's a 1445 flight TPE - SIN that gets in at 1850 but that pushes me onto a 2010 SIN - SYD flight

Ideally I'd like to be able to get the next day flight at 0925 to SYD

Any suggestions on how to get around this limitation?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Use MULTI CITY ITINERARY and book TPE - SIN - SYD - TPE
Price should be the same.

If you do not want to collect your luggage in Singapore you can ask when you check in to have it checked through to Sydney.

I did a trail date in April to look at redemptions. I'm getting three different flight pairs but not extending as far as you need.

If there are 'waitlist' options that day, perhaps you can use them to leverage the way you want.

Try doing the booking as a stopover which might give more options.

SQ is a full service airline, if no luck with the online options, you could call the call centre. explain that you can't get it to work the way you want and usually they do it at the online rate.

extracta - saver awards don't allow a stop over

alby - yeah might have to give them a call once the flights become available and see if they can help me out. i seem to remmeber a decade ago when i was flying SQ regularly and had an issue with making a booking on line that they gave me the points discount so fingers crossed.

very much a shame they don't segregate the flights in a way where they automatically only show what will be < 24 hours transit and let you pick and choose what suits you.

I recall using this though to get offered different flights on the website. just an idea, ie try progressing the booking as a stopover but selecting sectors within 24 hours. depending on the whim of the website, it might work.

That may be the case however sub 24 hour connections are not a stopover.
I may have caused this confusion. I think in the past I've tried requesting stopover itinerary and then it works out that it isn't more that 24 hours and then processes as a Saver. I haven't done it for a while, so the website functionality may have changed.
