Extending status credit expiry date

Hey everyone.

My mother is currently FF Bronze and sitting on about 145 SC's, and the date of expiry is November 30th, but a flight a month later in J will yield around 160 SC's, so if that flight was only a month earlier she would qualify for QFF Silver.

I know Qantas occasionally extends the SC earning date for Platinums and Golds, or offers double SC earn, etc, but would they do it for a bronze FF if asked?

I'm going to guess the answer is no, but i'd thought i'd get everyones opinion before I let my mother ring qantas

sorry but QF don't change the aniversary dae for anyone. It's set (unless you are given partner Gold then it'll change to match the WP who gave it too). I'm afraid you'll miss out. Of course it will go towards the following year so she could make silver then?

No chance IMHO. If she was already PS and needed the SC to requalify for PS you may have a chance for a comp, but not on the details the OP has stated.

As I thought! She was going to do a fair bit of travelling on OW next year so it would have been nice for her to have the extra silver perks, but I guess it'll have to wait.

There are people who will tell you that the perks aren't that great.

Haha, I know, but the extra baggage allowance is worth a lot to some.

Fair point, but AFAIK it only applies to QF flights only, and not all OW carriers.

She'd be better off getting QP membership in the mean time..

It does, but i've had mixed results, sometimes Cathay and JAL have let me check extra baggage without penalty, not sure if it was because of status, or they were just being nice.
