Hi All,

was reading the review of Garuda J class at ausbt last night and came across the fact that express incoming cards can be requested when you check in for your flight out of Sydney.

I have flown SQ as VA Gold before and every time I get the express departure lane card, has anyone been offered the express path card for incoming when checking in at Sydney flying SQ ?

Cheers.

Just came from SIN, you need to ask for incoming express card at the gate in SIN when validating your boarding pass. Show them your gold card or J boarding pass. I got one with my Velocity Gold.

The last few times I have flown into Sydney, the " express path" line was longer than the normal one..... I always use smart gate, then the normal customs line.
I now have a collection of " express path" cards ;-)

Welcome to AFF logist! Interesting first post!

yup it always works for me, no matter if you hold VA gold, VA plat or star gold.

I agree. I've not used anything but the smart gate since their installation.

Same same.

I use Smartgate but my passport is damaged and it keeps directing to me service counter. Hardly ever anyone in queue and get served straight away.

The hardest part is going through Quarantine with Golf clubs as they want to check golf shoes and it is usually the slowest lane and cannot use the express path if you have something to declare. By the way I do not have golf shoes but you must declare sporting equipment.

I'm the same, the smartgate is usually quicker and I have a collection of express cards that I use to give to my non-status travelling friends

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Still good for those who don't have ANZ passport =)

I'd have killed for express cards whilst based in London. Since biometrics introduced a visa didn't cut it. Often spend as long in a queue at LHR than on the flight there! BA were strict on express passes only for J/F (at least in my experience)

Express cards often pop up on eBay....

Seen the Aussie ones go for about $20!

Really?

I have to start learning to use eBay. Express path cards, amenity kits, QF pyjamas, QF complimentary lounge passes, QF Platinum luggage tags, golf balls etc. It could be enough to pay for my next trip to Thailand. ;)

Seriously?! I mean how hard could they be to knock off?

Knock off as in copy? Mmmm average person wouldn't bother - they have a plastic film, die cut with roughed edges, too hard basket, not enough demand either I'd imagine most people have no idea about them / wouldn't pay anyway!

Not advocating for it, but some decent stock, laser printer and a pair of scissors and the extremely bored guy grabbing the passes and I think you'd be fine.

thanks for the update guys, flying tomorrow. Just hoping air NZ will let me use their lounge for two pax :)

I think quite a few of us would be sitting on gold mines... just have to avoid flooding the market ;)
