Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

What about the scenario where your driving in a cab and it breaks down and your seven hours late to your destination - do you pay the fare?

The training I received as a cab driver is that you radio for another cab, forgo want is on the meter and the passenger pays the other cab from that point onwards. So, yes and no about paying the fare

Bit different. It is a lot easier to organise a replacement cab in a shorter time frame for one cab load of people then it is to organise (most cases) a replacement 777 for one 777 load of people

Possibly the conditions of Carriage would be different ie Taxi v International Airline.

Bottom line-is there any chance of the OP getting a free trip to London? Judge for yourselves...

More chance of me having a sex change and being crowned Miss Universe. On the bright side the OP already received a complimentary layover in Chennai, complete with authentic cultural experience. Not everyone gets a scenic detour on their long haul flight.....in Y no less, plus bonus points. *sigh* some people are never happy......

All I can say to people who choose Emirates is "caveat emptor" (note that I am EK Gold).

EK can be quite good, especially when the flight is lightly loaded and everything else goes to plan. But on a fully loaded flight, with a couple of glitches, it can quickly turn to hell. And note that most EK FA's have ESL at best. Also, the fact that they squeeze more pax into a 777 than most other "premium" airlines doesn't help (if you want more info, consult www.seatguru.com).

I have personally experienced similar non-assistance from EK, when last year's Icelandic ash cloud started causing problems in Europe. EK wanted to strand me in KUL and not fly me to DXB (for which I was ticketed), which was clear of ash. No one from EK was there to help, and all pax were left to their own devices, even F class pax.

I decided the only way I was going anywhere was to take the initiative and go to the ticket counter and request that my ticket be changed to somewhere they would fly me to, ROM in this case. This was done, and I was on my way. Meanwhile the 300 other pax who were denied boarding were about to lynch the locally engaged contractors who were handling the flight.

So take my word for it, EK will walk away from their responsibilities in a crisis, as seems to have happened in the OP's case.

BTW, I'm informed that EY performs much better in similar circumstances, but can't vouch for this personally.

I'd be a little concerned about being dropped in an Indian carpark for 45 minutes and then having a random person tell me to get in the car and go with them. In all my travels across India and parts of Asia I've been very sceptical of people offering transport at airport, so if EK really did drop them and then have unidentified people offer transport then it's a bit of a coughup.

The whole thing doesn't sound like it was organised very well, especially being shifted to a hotel and then called several times with different departure details (how could you really get any sleep then?). I know things can change, but I think the pax would rather be told "you won't be leaving until tomorrow" rather than having the story changed constantly overnight.

A lot of negativity to the pax here... perhaps we should put ourselves in his shoes and see how we'd react then. I know I wouldn't be pleased!
