Emirates - how closely do they police checked luggage measurements and carry on weights?

I have to take a lot of equipment on an assignment in Egypt and my big Peli case is sized for Qantas's 158cm size limit but Emirates limit is 150cm - how closely do they police that and how closely do they police carry on bag weights?
