I've had a reasonable look on the Emirates site but can't seem to find an answer to this question:

I have booked an award booking via Qantas. Emirates flight - Sydney to Bangkok in Business and Bangkok to Sydney in First. Does this entitle me to use the chauffeur service? Or is this precluded because it is an award booking?

The only reference I can find in the T & C's are to 'complimentary flights'. Are these award flights or are they different?

Also any advice about seating.

Currently:
EK 419 - 14J

EK 418 - 1K

Yes to the chauffeur drive, I've used it several times on the same award flights.
No strong feelings about the seats, though 14F is good because it's shielded from the aisle.

Have had CD on MEL-SIN EK award flights booked using QFF points. Perhaps needs to be on the EK flight no when booked to have access on Manage your booking at qantas.com

We are flying into Dubai business class (using QFF points). Wondered if there was an arrivals lounge or lounge in the chauffeur drive area with showers?

No, there's not. No Arrivals Lounge and the chauffeur area is really just a few desks with a couple of chairs - it's very efficient, you're normally off to the car within a minute or so.

Re showers on arrival - I think they presume everyone will go straight to home/hotel/office.

Question re chauffeur drive. I'm flying EK Award J from Dubai to Bangkok, but partner is flying SQ Award J from Dubai to Bangkok (trying to use up some FF points). I believe I'm entitled to chauffeur drive to DXB / from BKK, but would my partner also be able to take advantage of this?

Separate question (and rather than post in a different thread), is it possible to walk internally from Terminal 1 in DXB (where I believe SQ depart from) to Terminal 3 (where EK depart from) and, if so, how long will it take? Sorry, first time DXB so have zero clue and can't determine from the DXB airport website.

Assistance very much appreciated.

Cheers, Suz

I have seen reports that drivers have been instructed that carriage is limited to the number of PAX booked on EK.

You never really know however until the pick up.

Dubai airport is huge, even within the same terminal it takes ages. I can't help with timing as I've only travelled EK terminal.

I'm thinking of booking a short trip to New Zealand (MEL-AKL-MEL) on EK406/EK407 in J and possibly F for the flight home. Does one get the chauffeur service for trans-Tasman flights? Also, if I splurge and go F, will I get PJs on a 4-hour daytime flight with EK?

No chauffeur I believe.

Pj's should be available in F even if you have to ask.

Just a note, if there are 2 of you travelling Business or First, you can book a car each at both ends. This is what i will have to do as we have 6 items of luggage which is above the limit for 1 car. This applies with paid and award flights.

This is possible. But you may not necessarily get two vehicles.

One one occasion after arriving in Sydney I got a 8 seater mini van, which was more than enough for the large amount of luggage and the 2 passengers, even though I had booked for 2 wehicles.

One large vehicle will be a better option for us as I would rather travel with my wife and luggage in one vehicle.

Pity EK don't (potentially) save themselves some money by allowing pax to use MMB to trade the available cars for miles or other incentives to use less of the available cars per booking. (Eg: My next booking has 24 cars available, but as few as 3 are needed.)

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is MMB?
