I'm looking into a Isreali holiday and I am aware of the QF/LY connection in BKK.

Question: is the BKK-TLV leg actually codeshared with a QF number? The QF website lists no cash fares and directs me to book a via phone (which I assume is a El Al/Isreali security thing) thus no help there and my Google Powers are failing me at the moment in finding an answer. :/

A lack of ability to earn SCs on a long leg like that would nix that idea and I'd be looking at an alternate OW route (probs RJ as opposes to something via EU or LAX)

I'm not aware of a code share... but you might consider RJ anyway - even with the ~1hr50min stopover in AMM the total journey time is only 45 mins longer than LY (due to LY's routing restrictions).

There used to be some sort of codeshare agreement between QF and LY. It used to be very convenient to travel all the way to TLV on QF ticket.
Now QF points can only be used to book flight on LY Y (not J).

I flew on that route many times on both LY and RJ and although LY is more convenient to avoid another connection it's not a big deal to make the short stopover in AMM considering, as MEL_Traveller said, you arrive almost the same time as LY flight from BKK.
