Today I received an offer in the mail from Westpac Earth offering 2500 bonus points providing I make three eligible purchases of at least $25 between end of Aug- 29 Sep.

Eligible purchases = not reversed or cancelled, no cash advance or purchase of gaming chips etc.
Points should be in the account by the end of Oct.
Can only use the offer once i.e. three transactions = 2500 bonus points. Six transactions = 2500 bonus points.

So $75 for 2500 points. That's better than anything from EDR.

The flier came addressed in my name and mentions the credit card number (last four digits) eligible for the offer. So I don't know if it is targeted or if everyone will get this offer.

While not the best offer in the whole world it isn't too bad either. I think I might dust off these cards for a transaction or three.

Perhaps they are trying to keep those that still have the cards somehow loyal... for me the ridiculous low points cap on this card makes it a useless piece of plastic....

Too hard to mass a nice points balance with an earth card since the points capping was introduced.

YMMV

I think you hit the nail on the head. The flier is titled "there could be bonus points hiding in your wallet" now if I was using this card a lot the card would hardly be hiding in my wallet now would it? Are you listening Westpac?

I think they have seen that I have gone from maxing out the card and paying it off in full every month to a card that is "hidden". Hopefully they wake up and stop the "enhancements" and realise that if I want a low interest rate credit card that is what I shall apply for, if I want a credit card that earns me points then that is the kind of credit card I shall apply for. For them to pull the carpet out from under my feet and give a ridiculously low points cap is short sighted as I am going to look elsewhere for my bonii.
