Hi all,

Does anyone have experience on whether or not you can earn Velocity SCs and/or points by flying on Air Berlin metal, booked with an Etihad flight number? We are flying from Germany to Abu Dhabi in January and I'm considering throwing in a domestic connection within Germany to Frankfurt or Dusseldorf and flying from there to AUH on EY metal, as the price difference is negligible to a direct flight from either of those airports - indeed it can even be cheaper. So if we can land a bonus 10 SCs each for the domestic AB flight it could well be worth it.

If the above answer is no, is it possible if the above flights were booked directly through VA? Booking a one-way from Germany to AUH doesn't seem possible on the VA website so I'm not sure on the price difference against booking via Etihad.

Cheers,

Thanks for that ap_spd, I stumbled across that on the Velocity website too. I was hoping someone had experience with flying AB after booking through EY and whether or not this would accrue Velocity SC and/or points as this is the desirable option for us.

You will not earn any points when flying an EY flight number not operated by them, the only exceptions are the Jet and VA services ex KUL to AUH which are treated as EY flights despite being operated by the respective airlines as a wet lease.
